With the arrest of former FBI Director James Comey, which was encouraged by President Trump.

President Trump is saying to Comey: Comey, you may beat the rap, but you won’t beat the ride. This phrase, often used in law enforcement, implies that even if you escape the legal consequences, you will still have to endure the process and its associated hardships.

On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, James Comey went to federal court and pleaded not guilty to criminal charges of ‘making false statements to Congress and obstruction of a congressional proceeding.’ These charges stem from his handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Flanked by his legal team, including the top-notch attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, Comey appeared in court with his daughter and son-in-law, both former federal prosecutors, for unwavering support. After his arraignment, the judge, in a display of the fairness of the legal process, released him on his own recognizance.

President Trump knows that James Comey has a 10-to-1 chance of winning the case brought against him. However, the President wants to take the former FBI director for a ride.

One can tell that Trump’s heart is not in it by the prosecutor he’s selected to lead the case. Lindsey Halligan is like Morgan & Morgan insurance lawyers. They’re not competent trial attorneys, which should raise concerns about the fairness of the legal process.

Like 95 percent of ambulance chasers in Florida, they function at a paralegal level. They fill out the paperwork and send it to the insurance companies for review of their claims.
Then the companies collect the shakedown money and split it with their clients.

James Comey Will Beat The Rap — Not The Ride.

The persecution of Comey is an old trick used by law enforcement officers when they’re pissed at someone. They’ll arrest the person, knowing full well that a judge will toss the case.

However, the person has to take time to go to court, and perhaps even hire an attorney.

James Comey, a longtime Republican, helped Donald Trump win the 2016 presidential election.
When Letitia James, Fani (the mammy) Lewis, and Jack Smith went after President Trump, they knew he would not end up in jail. However, they wanted to give him a ride. Now the shoe is on the other foot.

Beat the rap, but not the ride tactic is used by police against especially young Black men. They use the tactic to sully one’s reputation. Give them a ‘criminal’ record. And when they seek employment, they get knocked out of the running.
