Long-time Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn had his ass handed to him on a silver platter by President Trump-endorsed Ken Paxton.

The heated GOP Texas primary saw a record amount of money pouring into the race.

This race has gone down in history as the most expensive Senate primary, raising over $125 million, reflecting its high stakes and significance for Texas politics.

According to AdImpact, the only other race that comes close to those mega-donations in influencing U.S. Senate politicians is Arizona’s 2022 record of $109.5 million.

Before President Trump endorsed Ken Paxton, he was falling behind Sen. John Cornyn.

The Trump endorsement is a clear indicator of how, sometimes, the right endorsement can shift perceptions and outcomes.

Once Trump put his finger on the scale, Paxton surged ahead, leading to Cornyn’s ass-whooping.

No finance without romance.

Both Ken Paxton and his general election opponent, Democrat State Rep. James Talerico, have sold themselves to the highest bidder to get a job that pays on paper $174K annually.

The big-money donors have made it clear to current and future politicians that, to get into office, they have to romance big money.

Of course, once in office, the side-grafting, paybacks to big donors, and what they do to American taxpayers are unspeakable.

Candidate James Talarico has pulled in more than $40 million. One plus for Talarico is that he supposedly has 45,000 volunteers working for him.

According to Federal Election Commission filings, Texans for a Conservative Majority has raised nearly $35.6 million this election cycle for the incumbent Sen. John Cornyn. Cornyn lost his reelection bid to Ken Paxton.

With 99 percent of the Senate primary votes counted, Ken Paxton won the race with 885,949 votes, or 63.8%.
The incumbent Sen. John Cornyn lost the race with 501,725 or
36.2%. There are over 14,000 votes to be counted.
The four-term Republican Sen. John Cornyn will have to go home and relax instead of being in the Senate.
The question is: Why would someone spend tens of millions of dollars to get a job that pays only $ 174,000 annually?
Everything is bigger in Texas, and apparently so are the bribes.
