Former Broward County mayor Dale Holness: Center

US Rep Sheila-Chefilus McCormick: Left

They're BAAACCCK!

A rematch between former Broward County Commissioner/Mayor Dale Holness and public service political neophyte Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick is on for August 23rd. In their first matchup, McCormick won the race over Holness by about five votes. During the last campaign, McCormick outspent Holness by millions of dollars. Millions she claimed were her own money — some in the Black community seem to think Big pharmaceutical companies with nefarious intentions donated those millions of dollars.

Politics Make Strange Bedfellows.

The truth is: McCormick has not been on the take from Big Pharma — at least not directly. But former president Donald Trump’s administration funneled over 1.2 million dollars to McCormick’s Trinity Health Care Services, LLC, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ administration steered over twenty-two (22) million dollars towards her stepfather’s business (Trinity Health Care Services, LLC.) during her run for Congress. Ms. McCormick used over six (6) million dollars of that money to fund her campaigns. The Trump and DeSantis administrations gave Trinity Health Care over Twenty-Four Million Dollars to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to the predominantly Black community.

Since Sheila McCormick confiscated Six Million Dollars of the nearly Twenty-Four Million Dollars to fund her run for Congress, that is 25 percent. What percentage did the owner of take for himself? And what percentage did the other partners of the business keep for themselves? Six times four is “equal” to 24. What percentage of the $24 million provided vaccinations to the Black community? Rep. McCormick advised that Trinity Health Care Services, LLC provided 61 000 (sixty-one thousand) shots per day at total capacity. Somewhere, there is a fly in the ointment. They sent Ms. McCormick to Washington to join the left-wing loons known as the Madd Squad. 1440 Mi. Rep. Chefilus McCormick sits on the Transportation sub-committee in Congress. TRANSPORTATION.

Politics Make Nasty Bedfellows.

Outgoing Florida state Sen. Lauren Book Lost Her Seat to Redistricting: Now Encroaching On Dr. Sharief District.

Former Broward County Commissioner/mayor Barbara Sharief is returning to the political arena. Ms. Sharief also ran in the 2020 race for Florida District 20 seat. A seat in Congress that it appears Rep. Sheila Chefilus-McCormick bought for $6 million. This time, however, Ms. Sharief is running to replace Florida state Senator Lauren Book. Unlike Lauren Book, who was born with a silver foot in her mouth, as the late Texas Gov. Ann Richards would say. Ms. Barbara Sharief is a successful self-made person who pulled herself up by the bootstraps.

Lauren Book darn near pulled out some Willie Horton advertisements to use against Dr. Barbara Sharief. Ms. Lauren Book’s Television advertising claims Dr. Sharief defrauded Medicare. Book also paints Sharief as a gun-toting, gun-loving lunatic. In reality, Dr. Sharief isn’t considered a gun-toting person. She is suing State Senator Book for libel and defamation of character.

In 1988, presidential candidate George H. W. Bush used Willie Horton’s tactics (to drum up fear of Black people) against his opponent Michael Dukakis. Dukakis lost his bid for the presidency to Bush. Here we are 34 years later, a generation later, and Lauren Book is figuratively trying to drag Dr. Sharief behind a pickup truck as if her name was James Byrd, Jr.

While Ms. Book isn’t necessarily a bigot, she’s using the same old tactic of connecting Black people to crime, because that is what most politicians do to get elected.

Howard University and St. Thomas Law School graduate attorney Kaysia (pronounced Kay-see-ah) M. Earley is running to replace Judge Mardi Levey Cohen as County Judge in Broward County, 17th Circuit, Group 26.

Judge Cohen has been on the bench since 2010. She’s the wife of Judge Dale Cohen. For years, some community attorneys have lifted their voices against Mardi Cohen. They say she’s not fit to serve as a judge.

Public Defender Jennifer Edgley once alleged that while in court, Judge Mardi Cohen called her a “little twit.” LOL. WTF. In steps Kaysia Earley to replace Mrs. Cohen and dismantle the Broward County Courthouse tag team.

Since going to Washington, Ms. McCormick has failed to deliver on her bloated promises of $1000 per month food stamp vouchers to her constituents or Floridians. However, she made several advances toward helping small business owners in the community.

Three The Hard Way

Throwing her hat into the ring for US Representative for Florida Congressional District 20 is Florida House Rep Anika Omphroy. Ms. Omphroy is running as a mischief-making nuisance spoiler for either Holness or McCormick. This race is genuinely between Holness and McCormick. Ms. Omphroy is not a serious candidate; she’s just another fly in the ointment. Politicians run as spoilers from time to time — that fine, as long as they’re not paid to do so.

Running for City of Lauderhill mayor is Richard Campbell. Campbell is a former Lauderhill Commissioner who, in 2020, lost his seat #2 to Melissa P. Dunn. This time, Campbell is running to replace Ken Thurston as City of Lauderhill mayor — seat #4. With gentrification sweeping Black residents out of their homes in Lauderhill, Lauderhill politicians are a set of politicians to watch. Golf courses are a prime target for unscrupulous developers willing to bribe hungry Commissioners. Again with the new onslaught of gentrification corralling families from their homes, in Inverrary neighborhoods and reckless developers moving in — follow the money.
