R&B / Pop singer Peabo Bryson has “died.” Peabo Bryson transitioned on June 2; he was seventy-five years old.

The powerhouse crooner, whose baritone voice often flaunts the pitch of a tenor, won two Grammy awards for his Disney soundtrack thrillers.

Bryson’s voice projects warmth and command of singing, breath control. He has been performing professionally for over 60 years.

The strength and richness of Bryson’s voice come through in both his studio recordings and his live performances.

Bryson has recorded duets with other musical greats, including Regina Belle on “A Whole New World” and Celine Dion on “Beauty and the Beast.”

Both of those songs topped the Billboard Charts and appeared on the soundtrack of Disney’s Aladdin.

In 1983, Bryson and Roberta Flack recorded, Tonight I Celebrate My Love for You.” The song peaked at # 16 on Billboard Hot 100.

Bryson’s mother used to take him to watch African American concerts.

From the 1970s through 2010, Bryson recorded hits such as Feel the Fire, I’m So Into You, and Can You Stop the Rain, to name a few.
