While President Trump backs down from bombing Iran back beyond the Stone Age, the price of gas won’t go back down.

As of the end of February 2026, the national average for gas has surged to over $4.15 per gallon. The sharp increase marks the biggest surge gas buyers haven’t seen in roughly 4 years.

Economic pressures are growing, and many feel anxious about rising expenses.

At the start of the latest conflict in the Middle East, the average fuel price was $2.98 pe gallon.

Most people who travel by car pay an average of $30.00 extra per week to fill up their tank, or $120.00 per month, or $1440.00 per year.

With the new government’s austerity measures in full effect, many Americans are tightening their belts.

President Trump backs down, but the price of fuel won’t.

Few Americans will receive a $1,440 pay raise this year to offset the strangulation at the pump.

The war has choked off the Hormuz Strait, and so are the finances of struggling American workers.

The government has reduced benefits for people on Medicare, Social Security, and other social programs to help pay for the war.

President Trump backs down

President Trump backs down, but the price of fuel won’t. President Jimmy Carter tried this before.

With the government slashing social programs, many Americans will have less money to spend on food and other necessities.
The government austerity will only serve as an unreleased pressure valve on the system.
The super wealthy will get wealthier. However, if the pressure exceeds the valve’s limit, the pyramid collapses from the bottom up.
The ensuing chaos will touch everybody.
Mostly, the rednecks, country bumpkins, and other survivalists who know how to live off the grid will survive the chaos.
The chaos isn’t necessary.

As long as the Iranians imaginary tool booth remains in place, the price of fuel will remain high.
The ship owners will pay the Iranians $2 million per vessel for each vessel to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
As in all business models, if there is a tax bill, the business owners pass the surcharge on to customers.
They’re not going to pay the $2 million; the consumers will.
The price of fuel will remain high for years to come with minor fluctuations.
