Ma Barker And Her Son

Rapper Sean Kingston, who once soared to the top of the music charts from humble beginnings, has now taken an unexpected turn in his career. Born Kesean Paul Anderson, he finds himself back where he started—at the bottom.

On Friday, a federal jury delivered a significant blow to the reputation of 35-year-old ‘Sean Kingston’ and his mother, 62-year-old Janice Turner, by finding them guilty of a “luxury fraud scheme.” This verdict has tarnished their names and cast a shadow over Kingston’s rise to fame, which began in 2007 when he co-wrote and performed the hit “Beautiful Girls,” using Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” in the background.

Ma Barker Syndrome.

The song “Beautiful Girls” has garnered over 1.5 billion views on YouTube. Kingston started at the bottom and scratched his way to a top spot in the music scene. His mother, Janice Turner, a virulent thief, went to prison in 2006 after she pleaded guilty to defrauding a bank out of $160,000. She served one and a half years. Afflicted with the Ma Barker syndrome, Janice Turner brought her son Sean Kingston into an irresponsible life of stealing.

Hence, last August, Ms. Turner and Kingston were arraigned in a one-million-dollar fraud scheme to which they pled “not guilty.” Today, a federal grand jury begs to differ on their pleas.
According to TMZ, Sean Kingston was visibly distraught and wept when the verdict was read.
This emotional response from the once-celebrated artist offers a glimpse into the personal toll of the legal troubles.
Last May, the Broward Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Kingston. He was taken into custody while performing at Fort Irwin Army Base in the Mojave Desert.

Sticky Fingers vs Goldfinger.

Kesean Paul Anderson, aka Kingston, was born in Miami. In his earlier years, he moved to Jamaica to live with family members. Later, he returned to Miami to finish high school. With the release of “Beautiful Girls,” Kingston made it out of slum life. Success is sweet. And then he became greedy.
Sticky fingers syndrome took over his mind.

At the time of his arrest, the rapper was serving two years of probation. On the same day Kingston was arrested, the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) raided the rental property Kingston shared with his mother in Southwest Ranches, Davie, Florida.

“In 2018, a New York jeweler successfully sued the two for $301,000 after they scammed the store out of nine items.”
In the James Bond movie Goldfinger, the great novelist Ian Fleming wrote the famous lines, “Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern.” Sticky Fingers vs. Goldfinger.

This fraud spree isn’t their first run of committing fraud by scamming people out of their money, goods, and property. It is a well-developed pattern. Like a crackhead addicted to crack cocaine, they could not stop stealing. They had to get their fix. Whenever there is an addict, someone must supply the dopamine enhancer.
‘Kingston’ enjoyed being the fixer who got high off her supply. Broward Circuit Judge Ernest Kollra called her the ‘fixer’ and the ‘nerve center’ of the criminal enterprise.’

The warrants issued last May for their arrest allege they stole money, $480,000 worth of jewelry, a $160,000 Cadillac Escalade, and furniture.
Kingston and his mother were found guilty of defrauding a Florida entertainment systems company in February 2023. The company alleged that he failed to pay $120,000 of a $150,000 bill for a 232-inch television it installed in his home. The TV is approximately 17 feet by 9.5 feet and covers a wall.

The mindset is one of living in a rental property. The companies who installed the goods would have to place a lien on the house to get paid. However, Sean Kingston and his Janice Turner won’t be affected because they live in a rental. Well, they are FAFO.
Now, a jury has convicted both of them of all five charges leveled against them, with each of them potentially facing up to 20 years in prison.
