It was an impressive sight to behold. 10,000 soldiers on parade. It may not have been exactly 96 degrees in the shade; Mother Nature cooperated, but only to a degree. Today, this world’s greatest ‘standing military’ was on parade in Washington, D.C., and 6,700 soldiers showed the American people they had the right stuff.

There was a time when America spoke softly and carried a big stick. Today, America still holds a big stick, a symbol of our unity and strength. There is more growling than ever on display.

However, it’s important to note that America is not alone in this display of military might. It has joined the ranks of other nations, such as China, France, North Korea, India, the United Kingdom, and Brazil, in showcasing its military might.

While the 250th anniversary celebration is in progress, the Israelis and Iran are at war. America might have to join the fray.

While a significant portion of Americans object to the Military parade, it’s noteworthy that these objectors are primarily divided along party lines.

Some people decry the parade because they say President Trump is doing it to celebrate his 79th birthday. Trump was born on June 14, the same day as the founding of the Army of the United States in 1775. Those who object to the parade argue that the event will cost taxpayers $45 million. Roads will be destroyed due to the weight of some of the machines.

  • There were twenty-eight 70 tons of Abrams Tanks
  • 50 Helicopters
  • 34 Horses
  • And one Robotic Dog

However, in the larger scope of things, $45 million is just a drop in the bucket.

“No Kings” Rallies And Protests

Standing in opposition to some of President Trump’s policies were hundreds of rallygoers throughout all fifty states. Most marchers opposed the methods used by ICE agents in apprehending Joe Biden’s illegal migrants. Some people stood in opposition to what they say amounts to President Trump using the military to celebrate his birthday. Hence the “No Kings” protests.
