After days of concealing their decision to make Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei, their new Supreme Leader, four days ago, Iran’s 88-member Assembly of Experts, a body of senior Shiite clerics, decided to name Mojtaba Ayatollah.
However, they withheld their decision until the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) could make arrangements to secure his safety.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he would kill Iran’s new Ayatollah.
To the Shite sect of Muslims, the Ayatollah is their equivalent of what the Pope is to Catholics.
