President Trump’s cabinet, has been having skirmishes with her second-in-command, Tod Blanche.
Tod Blance, one of President Trump’s former personal attorneys, also proved himself a loyal foot soldier for Trump.
Pam Bondi, the ousted Trump loyalist, served as Florida’s 37th attorney general from 2011 to 2019.
In 2025, at a Senate hearing, A.G. Pam Bondi said, “I took office with two major goals: to end the weaponization of justice and to fight violent crime.”
Many Democrats have accused Bondi of weaponizing the Justice Department like never before.
Blanche will temporarily sit in for Pam Bondi until a replacement can be found. Aside from representing Donald Trump, Blanche, a former Democrat until 2024, also represented other high-profile clients, including New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Paul Manafort.
Before joining the DoJ, Blanche was a partner at the Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft law firm.
“Pam Bondi led this Department with strength and conviction, and I’m grateful for her leadership and friendship,” Blanche said in a statement. “Thank you to President Trump for the trust and the opportunity to serve as Acting Attorney General.”
Other possible contenders for the A.G.’s position include Lee Zeldin, Environmental Protection Agency administrator.
President Trump has a history of assigning the not-so-bright people to lead the EPA, such as former Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
Another contender for the top spot at the DOJ could be former Fox News host Jeanne Piro.
Many people seem to think that she’s strung out on prescribed medication.
Another former Trump attorney, Alina Habba, is touted as another candidate for the DOJ’s top job.
According to the NYP, “The Attorney General was back in Florida as of Friday afternoon when the president removed her and put Blanche in charge of the DOJ.”
