On the recent Friday, a significant event unfolded in the Federal Reserve as President Donald Trump sent a letter to Governor Lisa Crooks, informing her of her dismissal. The allegations against Ms. Crooks, also known as Ms. Crook, are serious-she is accused of manipulating the mortgage records and obstructing the path to affordable mortgages for others.

The controversy surrounding Lisa Crook, the Fed Governor who President Trump fired, has sparked a heated debate. Some argue that her alleged mortgage fraud is a clear case of political bias, while others believe that it’s part of the president’s job to protect the American people. This debate has led to a frenzy among liberals defending Crook’s actions.

Like most US presidents, Donald Trump has had rows with the Federal Reserve chairman and its governors. Here, it’s Jerome Powell — a Trump appointee. Powell has been trying to take a stand against President Trump since his return to the White House.
Although Trump appointed Powell to the chairmanship on February 5, 2018, Powell had been a member of the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors since May 2012.

Biden Appointee Lisa Crook Refuses to Leave.

Lisa Crook, a President Joe Biden-appointed official, has refused to leave her post despite being fired by President Trump. She continues to attend Central Bank meetings as usual, with her attorney, Abbe Lowell, promising to sue on her behalf. This refusal to leave her post and the subsequent legal battle highlight the deep political divide and the power struggle between the Trump and Biden administrations.

The Trump administration has leveled serious accusations against Ms. Crook, alleging ‘deceitful and potentially criminal conduct.’ These charges are specifically related to the mortgages she secured in 2021.
Ms. Cook borrowed money to purchase two separate homes. She claimed both homes as her primary residence to get a better financial break on the loans.
As a consequence, the administration advised that “sufficient cause” exists to fire her because she had described separate properties in Michigan and Georgia as her primary residences on mortgage applications before joining the Fed in 2022.

Trump Appointee William Pulte.

Trump appointee William Pulte, the director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, has been conducting a routine investigation into how government officials obtain their mortgage loans. During this investigation, when he looked at Ms. Cook’s mortgage application, it raised some concerns. Mr. Pulte then referred the matter to the US Attorney General for further investigation.
