On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) arrested City of Lauderhill police officer Brian Sguros for stealing a dead man’s home and identity.

Thirty-five-year-old Brian Sguros knows that dead men tell no tales, but he forgot that living relatives and county records sometimes speak from the grave for the dead.

On July 22, 2022, Sguros went on a welfare check as a backup unit to 4551 NW 12 Street in Lauderhill, Florida, to check on Dennis West.

Nosy neighbors called 9-1-1 to report they hadn’t seen West in about two weeks.

They said he normally came outside to take out his garbage.

Sguros and his partner entered the residence through the front door, where they discovered 71-year-old Dennis West’s decomposing body.

Sguros thought, uhm, a dead man no longer needs his identity, nor does he need a house.

‘I can take over that house,’ the entitled Sguros thought to himself.

The dead man’s new house will be in a cemetery or the big house with the pearly gates.

Sguros saw an opportunity to assume another person’s identity and to steal a house.

He is one of the dullest tools sitting in a toolshed.

In Sguros’ mind, he’s won the lottery. He now has two identities; few people have two registered identities at city hall.

Nine days after Lauderhill police found West’s body and removed it from the property, on August 01, 2026, Brian Sguros took illegal possession of Dennis West’s residence.

The report from the Broward County Coroner’s office reads that Dennis West died of cardiac arrest or a heart attack.

That report sounds like an assumption rather than the result of an examination or complete autopsy.

That is some lazy autopsy or examination of a dead body. Every ‘dead’ person dies of a heart attack.

Even if they are shot and killed, the final cause of death is cardiac arrest.

There is a sudden and rapid acceleration of deterioration of the telomeres of a sick or injured person that takes place and leads to “death.”

There is an inverse action to life of that process that leads to….

Then the motive force, which constantly communicates with the heart and makes the body move, decides to leave.
This happens after the heart communicates with the brain (CPU), where the motive force partially dwells.
If someone is poisoned, the process is the same.
The Coroner never checked to see if Dennis West had been poisoned.
In what year did Brian Suguro start plotting to take over West’s home?

After all, he paid to have Dennis West’s body cremated. Hopefully, he didn’t smoke the ashes.
According to paperwork with the Broward County Property Appraiser’s Office, Sguros claims he had possessed the property since August 2022, twenty days after Lauderhill police found Dennis West’s body.
Who knows how many others are there.
On April 10, 2024, members of the City of Lauderhill Police Department, in conjunction with Sunrise PD, under pretenses, did attempt to murder another resident in his home to satisfy gentrification or to take over the home.

It isn’t clear what role Brian Sguros played in that April 10, 2024, KKK Night Raiders action, in broad daylight.

Sguros faces felony charges including official misconduct, criminal use of a deceased person’s identification, criminal use of personal identification information, an offense against a computer user, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

The Corpse Had a Familiar Face is a classic true-crime memoir by Pulitzer Prize-winning Miami Herald police reporter Edna Buchanan.

Often, the killers have a familiar face, too, not just the Corpse.

Although there aren’t any more Serpicos around to shine a light on cabals that take over police departments, that doesn’t mean everyone in city hall is clean.

We are the survivors, the Black survivors.
