The Governor told reporters that he doesn’t want to see “a digital AI surveillance state where everything we do is being tracked at all times.’
DeSantis went on to say that he believes that LPR (License Plate Readers) can be useful.’
When LPRs are used at toll plazas, they help to keep traffic moving along the highway.
They also prevent motor vehicle congestion.
LPRs at toll plazas help track scofflaws.
That is a legitimate reason for using LPRs.
LPRs installed at toll booths allow law enforcement officers to catch those who refuse to pay the toll fare that everyone else does.
Governor Ron DeSantis’ decisive action to remove Flock spy cameras shows that leaders can protect citizens’ safety and privacy when they listen to public outcry.
Over the past several months, there has been an outcry from most strong Americans demanding that the government stop stalking them.
Citizens living in the land of the brave, the home of the brave, have an aversion to being stalked.
After DeSantis’ order went into effect, Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero ordered the Flock Spy cameras, invasive and unsettling practices, to be taken offline.

Miami Beach mayor Steven Meiner, a wannabe despot, demanded that the spy cameras stay up.
Many people view Steven Meiner as a tyrannical despot.
Under Steven Meiner’s thumb, the City of Miami Beach is fast returning to the Sundown Town that it once was.

Miami Beach resident Raquel Pacheco sued Meiner for harassment and intimidation.
Ms. Pacheco alleges that Meiner sent City of Miami Beach detectives to her home to intimidate her after she posted a message critical of a stance Meiner took as a public official.
Ms. Pacheco, a veteran, was shocked when Miami Beach cops came knocking on her door and showed her a social media post to see whether she had posted it.
It’s alleged that Meiner and/or his team of ghouls monitor social media for posts disagreeing with his policies.
It’s alleged that they then contact social media to complain and/or have the DEI HNIC police chief send his henchmen to retaliate and intimidate citizens.
Miami Beach officials appear fond of violating the civil rights of those with political beliefs different from their own.
