A Miami-Dade Transit bus operator, whose duty was to ensure the safety of his passengers, has been placed on administrative leave after a tragic incident. He shot and killed two customers, a deeply distressing event that occurred just before 3:50 a.m. Sunday morning.

A male passenger attempted to board the bus with an electric bike at NW 183 Street at NW 7 Avenue in the City of Miami Gardens. The Bus operator, suspecting the customer stole the electric bike, immediately sprang into action, like a great crime fighter. But is that what the county pays his to do? Fight crime?

The bus driver fired six shots in the bus, striking the cyclist and his friend. Nobody steals a bike on my watch.
It was like Superman rescuing a “stolen bike” with Kryptonite on his back. And that’s just what it is. The bus driver saved a stolen bike but took two lives in his bike-saving mission.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue airlifted the victims to Aventura Hospital in critical condition. They were later pronounced dead from their injuries, police said.

Dade County transit officials are tight-lipped about whether the bus driver called his dispatcher for help before confronting the customers. However, they have announced that they have started the termination process for the gunslinging bus driver. MGPD released the driver after questioning. Miami Gardens police and Miami-Dade Transit are withholding the bus driver’s name.

Any county employee bringing an unauthorized firearm on county property is the equivalent of Superman riding around with Kryptonite on his back. He’s done. His fate is sealed. The City of Miami Gardens is a rough place. That is the same city where Miami-Dade County cop Danny Alvarez and his cronies dragged Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill by his neck out of his car.

Since January of this year, the Department has officially changed its name to Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office. The new Sheriff, who was part and parcel of protecting police brutality in the past, is now involved in the investigation of this incident. She continues to sweep police misconduct under the rug.
