Mood swings: The Stock Market is having hot flashes. One minute, it’s hot. The next minute, it’s cold.
Since last Thursday, April 3rd, the Stock Market has been experiencing extreme fluctuations, much like a roller coaster ride. The Dow Jones Industrials (DJI) shows signs of volatility, akin to a person having hot flashes. The unpredictable nature of the market is causing investors to feel like they’re driving on a road full of unexpected bumps.
Although the wheels haven’t quite fallen off, many wonder if they’ll need a new car or just a new set of wheels at the end of the ride. This uncertainty calls for resilience and adaptability in the face of market volatility.
It’s a wild Ride. In the movie ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ (a great film about the stock market), Matthew McConaughey’s character famously said, ‘I don’t care who you are? “Number one rule of the game.”
Whether you’re Warren Buffet or Jimmy Buffet, nobody knows if the Stock Market will go up, down side ways or in circles.’ This quote perfectly captures the uncertainty that investors are currently facing.
Stock Market Closed In The Green
On Friday, the Stock Market closed in the green, with the Dow gaining 620 points. President Trump escalated the trade war with China by increasing their tariffs to 145%. However, he made some ‘temporary’ exceptions on high-tech products from China. In response, China raised its tariff on the U.S. to 125 percent. Trump’s 90-day moratorium on tariffs for most countries played a significant role in pushing the markets into positive territory on Friday.
The President also claimed that leaders of several tariffed countries have called him begging to kiss his ass. He did not name the leaders who have puckered up.
On March 31, class clown Bill Maher visited the White House, where Trump hosted him in the class C dining room. After the dinner, Maher told the media, “It doesn’t matter who he is at a private dinner with a comedian; it matters who he is on the world stage.”
