But Vivek has a problem. As an East Indian, he represents a minority in Ohio, where about 70% of nearly 12 million residents are white. Most white Ohioans aren’t known for being middle-of-the-road white people. Vivek’s radioactive attitudes toward Black people raise questions about his understanding of diverse communities.
The East Indian population in Ohio stands at just over 100,000. Vivek, you got a problem, a numbers problem. That number isn’t enough to win a statewide race in a David Duke and J.D. Vance territory.
The Black population in Ohio stands at about 1,680,000. Vivek Ramaswamy’s stance against Black Americans should make voters concerned about racial justice and equality, prompting them to question his actual commitments.

Dr. Amy Acton, a former state health director, has adopted rabid campaign tactics.
Dr. Acton has injected Vivek Ramaswamy’s political campaign with a venomous poison that usually comes from the KKK. Actually, what the good doctor did was to use Ramaswamy’s own words against him. Ramaswamy is fond of calling Americans lazy.
Ramaswamy used to run across America, saying there are no white supremacists in Ohio or America.
This was his antidote to Black Americans who cry racism. Well, he just FAFO. Ramaswamy told Black people, ‘ to find white supremacy and bigotry in America would be like finding a unicorn.’ Ramaswamy just discovered Dr. Amy Acton like Christopher Columbus discovered America.

Last week at the TP USA AmericaFest gathering, Ramaswamy spoke to the attendees. In his speech, he attempted to rebrand himself as a Conservative — not a MAGA supporter. He also tried to change the hearts and minds of the attendees.
“If you believe in normalizing hatred towards any ethnic group, toward white, toward Black, toward Hispanics, toward Jews, toward Indians, you have no place in the future of the Conservative movement, period.” Dude, Dud, you cannot throw anyone out of the Conservative movement. You did not create it.
In December 2024, Ramaswamy posted on X (Twitter), which set MAGA in a tailspin. The blackface white supremacist received a “Black” lash from MAGA that he did not expect. It was OK when he chastised Black America. He was celebrated for his attacks on Black America.
However, once he flickered a tiny light from a small cigarette lighter on MAGA, they quickly turned on him. They called him a Ligger. Ligger, Ligger, Ligger. Ligger. As comedian Paul Mooney would say, Vivek Ramaswamy had his Indian wake-up call.

The reason top tech companies often hire foreign-born & first-generation engineers over “native“ Americans isn’t because of an innate American IQ deficit (a lazy & wrong explanation). A key part of it comes down to the c-word: culture. Tough questions demand tough answers & if we’re really serious about fixing the problem, we have to confront the TRUTH:
Our American culture has venerated mediocrity over excellence for way too long (at least since the 90s and likely longer). That doesn’t start in college, it starts YOUNG.
A culture that celebrates the prom queen over the math olympiad champ, or the jock over the valedictorian, will not produce the best engineers.
A culture that venerates Cory from “Boy Meets World,“ or Zach & Slater over Screech in “Saved by the Bell,“ or ‘Stefan‘ over Steve Urkel in “Family Matters,“ will not produce the best engineers.
(Fact: I know *multiple* sets of immigrant parents in the 90s who actively limited how much their kids could watch those TV shows precisely because they promoted mediocrity…and their kids went on to become wildly successful STEM graduates).
More movies like Whiplash, fewer reruns of “Friends.“ More math tutoring, fewer sleepovers. More weekend science competitions, fewer Saturday morning cartoons. More books, less TV. More creating, less “chillin.“ More extracurriculars, less “hanging out at the mall.”
Most normal American parents look skeptically at “those kinds of parents.“ More normal American kids view such “those kinds of kids“ with scorn. If you grow up aspiring to normalcy, normalcy is what you will achieve.
Now close your eyes & visualize which families you knew in the 90s (or even now) who raise their kids according to one model versus the other. Be brutally honest.
“Normalcy” doesn’t cut it in a hyper-competitive global market for technical talent. And if we pretend as if it does, we’ll have our asses handed to us by China.
This can be our Sputnik moment. We’ve awakened from slumber before & we can do it again. Trump’s election hopefully marks the beginning of a new golden era in America, but only if our culture fully wakes up. A culture that once again prioritizes achievement over normalcy; excellence over mediocrity; nerdiness over conformity; hard work over laziness.
That’s the work we have cut out for us, rather than wallowing in victimhood & just wishing (or legislating) alternative hiring practices into existence. I’m confident we can do it.
