On Wednesday, the FBI in Los Angeles carried out a raid on the home and office of LAUSD Supt. Alberto Carvalho. In early February of last year, the 1776 Project Foundation filed a case in the Los Angeles Superior Court against the school system led by Carvahlo.
The suit filed against Carvalho alleged that “hundreds of thousands of students have been deprived of receiving expanded arts and music instruction as mandated by law.”
In 2022, Alberto Carvalho quit his post as Superintendent of Miami-Dade Public Schools for a similar position in Los Angeles, California.
Carvalho made $375,000 annually as Miami-Dade superintendent of public schools. In Los Angeles, his compensation tops $440,000.
The culture in Miami-Dade Public Schools, from which Alberto hailed, is to deprive some schools of functioning musical instruments.
One such school is Thomas Jefferson/Biscayne Gardens school, located at 525 NW 147th Street, Miami, FL. That was back in the day, 25-plus years ago. It is unclear whether they (TJMS) still practice such cruelty.
The music teacher with a Muslim name would tell students that he doesn’t like trumpets with two finger buttons.
Carvalho, being a product of Miami-Dade schools, who knows what kind of tricks he’s taken with him to L.A.? In the LAUSD case, the 1776 Project Foundation filed the lawsuit on behalf of White students.
There was no one to file a lawsuit on behalf of the Black students. Such diacriminatory action was just par for the course.
The FBI hasn’t alleged that Alberto Carvalho has followed in the footsteps of former Dade County School Superintendent Johnny L. Jones. The FBI found many gold-plated toilet plumbing fixtures in the home of Superintendent Johnny Jones.
