NY Governor Andrew Cuomo Resigns, Sex Tales and Fairy Tales: Embattled No More.

Trial by Media

Immediately after the embattled Governor’s Attorney, Rita Glavin completed her press conference slamming the Media for propagating a shoddy and biased investigation by New York Attorney General Letitia James. The three-term New York Governor stepped up to the plate and announced his resignation, effective August 24, 2021, after 11 women made claims of unwanted touching and kisses from Gov. Cuomo. New York Attorney General Letitia James’ report, though biased as James herself – did highlight instances where Cuomo overstepped boundaries when dealing with some female staffers. During her August 3 press conference, Leticia James stated that she believed the women and that all women must be believed. Yes. Ask Emmett Till. Video of the interaction between Gov. Cuomo and one of the 11 women that made her uncomfortable.

“The camera loves me, and I love the camera.”

Andrew Cuomo started the announcement of his public resignation by saying, “Queens New York loves me, and I love New York.” It was about less than five months ago that Andrew Cuomo promised his most ardent supporters that he was going anywhere. “I’m not going to resign,” he said in March. That was before NY AG Leticia James (who has ambitions of her own to become New York’s Governor) began her investigations into the allegations of sexual harassment made by several staffers.  Cuomo Attorney claims that New York AG James acted as judge, jury, and executioner.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Top Aide Melissa DeRosa Steps Down 5 Days After The Goings Get Rough

If you want a friend in politics, get a dog: Harry S. Truman, the 33rd President of the United States.

An ominous sign of things to come for Cuomo came into view when white flags started popping up on the ship. On Sunday, five days after Attorney General James’ report was made public, Melissa De Rosa, the Governor’s top aide, resigned. The 38-year-old De Rosa worked with Cuomo for the past ten years as a power broker on behalf of his office – the most powerful woman in New York State next to the Lieutenant Governor 62-year-old Kathy Hochul, who is set to lead the state for the next eighteen months.

Once AG James made her biased report public, it gave the green light to leading members of the Democrat Party to go after Cuomo. His fate becomes sealed. Soon after that, President Joe Biden fired his musket and the internal war intensified. Biden called on Cuomo to resign, followed by Senators Kirsten Gillibrand, Chuck Schumer, and US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Kathy Hochul Soon To Be NY Female Governor

Gov. Cuomo himself admitted to touching some female staffers in ways that could be interpreted as sexual. He also asked them personal questions but added that he’s never touched anyone inappropriately – at least not in his mind. The perception in the interpretation of touch is all in the mind’s eye of the receiver. The intent of touch is all in the mind’s vision of the giver of the touch.

So, what’s next for Governor Andrew Cuomo, a touchy-feely middle-aged man who it appears is left behind holding on to an Italian culture of touching, embracing, and openly showing affection.  The kind of affection that could easily be misinterpreted as sexual advances by some members of society — a new generation (devoid of warmth) raised on the cold complex devices of X-Boxes, television, and cellphones?

Gov. Andrew’s fate is now in the hands of the New York Assembly – to impeach or not to impeach, that is the question?

Puerto Rico Will Soon Implement New Vaccination and Testing Rules for All Hotel Stays and Short-Term Rentals.

New Measures to Keep COVID At Bay

Amid rising numbers of COVID-19 cases across the U.S. — and even globally — Puerto Rico is set to implement new safety protocols for its travel and tourism industry. Starting Aug. 16, all hotel and short-term rental employees, as well as guests, will be required to show either proof of vaccination or a negative test result upon arrival.

This rule will apply to all types of tourist accommodations, including guesthouses, Paradores, short-term rentals like Airbnb and Vrbo home rentals, and of course, hotels. Both employees and guests who are unvaccinated must show proof of a negative PCR or antigen test taken within 72 hours of their visit. According to Discover Puerto Rico, the Island’s destination marketing organization, guests who stay longer than a week will have to provide evidence of a negative test result every week. Those not vaccinated due to medical or religious reasons must provide proper documentation confirming this and must present negative tests every week.

Puerto Rican Governor Pedro Pierluisi discussed the new safety measures in a news conference on Aug. 5. “We cannot lower our guard,” he said according to The Associated Press.

“These vaccines are for everyone. Vaccinations are the solution.” Other COVID-19-related travel requirements are already in place, including requiring all vaccinated domestic travelers to upload their official vaccination cards to Puerto Rico’s Travel Declaration Form portal. Unvaccinated travelers must show proof of a negative PCR or antigen test taken within 72 hours of their arrival. If they arrive without a trial, they must upload one within 48 hours of their appearance or face a $300 fine.

While on the Island, visitors will also find that not all restrictions have been lifted. Regardless of vaccination status, everyone is required to wear masks indoors. And to prevent late-night partying, from midnight to 5 a.m., access to Old San Juan is restricted to residents and tourists staying in the area.

Fully Vaccinated Americans Can Now Travel to the U.K. Without Quarantining

This week, the doors for international travel have opened a bit wider for vaccinated Americans, as of Monday, Aug. 2, American travelers who are fully inoculated against COVID-19 no longer have to quarantine when visiting the United Kingdom.

The U.K. still has its three-tier system for ranking the safety levels of other countries. The recent policy update will allow fully vaccinated travelers from “amber” countries, including the U.S., to skip quarantine upon arrival. Visitors are still required to get tested within three days of traveling to the destination. Visitors must also pre-book a COVID-19 PCR test to be taken on or before the second day of their stay. Completing a passenger locator form is also mandatory.

Beyond these testing requirements, those vaccinated in the U.S. will also be asked to show proof of U.S. residency.

“We’ve taken great strides on our journey to reopen international travel, and today is another important step forward. Whether you are a family reuniting for the first time since the start of the pandemic or a business benefiting from increased trade – this is the progress we can all enjoy,” Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said in a statement. “We will, of course, continue to be guided by the latest scientific data. But thanks to our world-leading domestic vaccination program, we’re able to look to the future and start to rebuild key transatlantic routes with the U.S. while further cementing ties with our European neighbors.”

The U.K.’s new policies also apply to travelers coming from the European Union, except France, whose travelers will be required to quarantine regardless of their vaccination status.

The decision to make it easier for international tourists to visit the U.K. comes over a week after its citizens celebrated “Freedom Day,” when capacity restrictions were eliminated and mask mandates lifted.

According to the U.K. government, 88.2% of its adults 18 and older have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. At the same time, 70.8% are fully vaccinated.

Casper’s Ghost, Other Belligerent Half Stabbed to Death.

0

He was Different

He was like a ghost that haunts several storefronts and City Bus Terminals in the Cities of Fort Lauderdale and Lauderhill. Don Royster, Jr craved attention, and from time to time, he would go out of his way to get attention – negative or positive – it didn’t matter. It was just a desire within himself, a thirst that he tried to quench. Royster, Jr, was born with a disability that prevented him from closing his mouth.

There were times when Don Royster, Jr would get on a city bus and ride back and forth, from point A to point B, over and over again. It was like he was trying to escape a part of himself that clung to him and followed him around wherever he goes. Try as he might, he could not run from himself. To some people (local store customers and bus riders), he was malignant, but he was benign to some members of his family, he was harmless, and he is loved. On May 28, Don Royster, Jr was stabbed to death by a vicious killer.

Nikki Elisias’ heart is riddled with pain and she’s seeking justice for her brother Don Royster, Jr

In an interview with WSVN Channel 7 News, Don’s older sister Nikki Elisias said, “I feel like all of this stuff could have ended before it even got to the point of my brother losing his life.” On a warm Friday afternoon in the City of Lauderhill, the straw that broke the camel’s back flew in, landed on the pile of other straws, and triggered a state of critical mass for Don Royster, Jr.

Witnesses told police that Don had gotten into a fight with someone earlier in the day. According to a Lauderhill Police report, on May 28 at 1241 hours, officers were dispatched to the Quick Stop Convenience Store at 4021 NW 16 Street about a disturbance. Upon their arrival, they found the victim Don Royster, Jr, with multiple lacerations to his body. Royce’s sister Nikki Elias said that he called her on his cell phone using his last breath to leave her a voice message after a vicious killer brutally stabbed him, and he breathes no more. May 28, someone decided to end the life of a man loved by his family and friends – although others loathed him.

Don Roce

Royster Jr is known to many store owners, customers, and city bus riders. On city buses some times he would pay his bus fare and ride to his destination like any other customer. Other times he would evade the bus fare. Most Broward County Bus Operators knew him and allowed him to ride for free as a courtesy. Because of his physical disability, It was somewhat of a curious sight to see him ride his bicycle around town from time to time.

Again, Royce could be likened to a tale of two cities, belligerent at times and other times well behaved. Sometimes being different can lead to indifference.

There is no doubt that some will celebrate his demise, but for his family – he is missed. The void that he’s left in their hearts only time will help to gloss over their pain.

Lauderhill Police is asking that anyone with information about the incident that led to the stabbing death of Don Royster, Jr to call LHP at (954) 497-4700.

Rocket Man: Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos Blast Off to The Edge of Space — In A Phallic Symbol.

Space: The Third Frontier

Today, Wednesday, July 20, marks the second time in as many weeks that a Billionaire has blasted off in a “Spaceship” seeking to touch the face of God. The late great Reggae singer Bob Marley sang of moments like these where he said, “See them sailing on their ego trips. They Blast off on their spaceships, a million miles from reality, no care for” the poor and suffering people among you and me. “There is so much trouble in the world right now.”

Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos went sailing into Space on a rocket ship that symbolizes male virility. Virgin Galactic’s owner, Sir Richard Branson’s spaceship, did not go as far as Bezos’ ship embodies the female essence. We’ll come back to this great symbol later.

Bezos held a news conference upon his return to earth where he pointed out that “What we are doing is the first step of something big.” “It’s not about escaping the earth,” Bezos said in response to critics who believe that the money used to take an eleven-minute flight could be better spend on earth helping others. The Billionaire continued, “We

Jeff Bezoz’ Phallic Symbol of Male Virility

are going to build a road to space.” In other words: The plane, the plane, the plane – Fantasy Island BS. Today Bezos did not accomplish anything that NASA hasn’t already completed. But it is Jeff Bezos’ right to spend and enjoy his money the way he sees fit. He’s earned it. Some people buy dope with their money; some people go bungee jumping. Bezos likes bungee Jumping.

Joining Bezos on his historic private passenger flight (of 62 miles above the earth) were 82-year-old Wally Funk. Funk is a woman pilot who trained with 13 other women as Astronauts sixty years ago but was denied a spot on Mercury 7 based on her gender. Today, the 82-year-old Funk, the oldest person to go into “space,” joined Jeff Bezos 57, his brother Mark Bezos 53, and 18-year-old Oliver Daemen – the youngest person to fly to the edge of Space, on a historic space flight.

Daemen is the youngest person in Space, joining Funk, who will become the oldest at 82, Oliver Daemen’s father Joes Daemen, purchased the seat on Blue Origin for a cool $28 million. The elder Daemen is from the Netherlands and made his fortune as a Real Estate mogul.

The Amazon founder said in a prepared statement, “This is the only good planet (earth) in our solar system.” We are going to build an infrastructure in Space so that we can solve the problems here on earth.” Bezos went on to say so that our kids and their kids can build a future here on earth. “What we are doing is important. Big things start small.”

While Bezos went flying on a symbolic phallic rocket ship representing male virility, the contrast contrasts the man he chose as a symbol of Black male masculinity. Bezos returned to earth and selected CNN’s Weeping Willow, AKA Van Jones, to give one hundred million dollars to blunt criticism of his adventures in Space. Van “Weeping Willow” Jones is famous for presenting himself on CNN in a prone position of supplication, weeping like a widow. He’s always crying for folk with his hat in his hand. We sick Massah? America was built by Buffalo Soldiers (men and women of courage) and bold Frontiers Men – not supine men. The money ($100 million) that Bezos gave to Van Jones should have gone to Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

France Reopens the Eiffel Tower to Visitors For the First Time in Nine Months.

After a nine-month closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, France has finally reopened the Eiffel Tower to visitors. This shutdown was the most extended closure of the monument since World War II forced it to close for several years.

The big reopening day came just after France celebrated Bastille Day with fireworks lighting up the iconic monument. Although the Eiffel Tower began welcoming visitors on July 16 — a sign that France is slowly getting back to normal — the popular tourist site isn’t quite going back to business as usual.

France will limit the number of visitors to 13,000 people per day — nearly half its standard capacity. In a typical year, about seven million people — of which 75% are foreigners — make their way up the iron structure to enjoy the unparalleled views of Paris. Since the Eiffel Tower’s opening in 1889, more than 300 million guests have visited the site.

According to the Agence France-Presse, half of the visitors who have already booked tickets are from France. Travelers from Spain and Italy make up a more significant portion of visitors than usual, while about 15% are from the U.S. and only a few are from Asia. Even fewer are arriving from the U.K.

France reopened its doors to international tourists on June 9, 2021. Those coming from the U.S. must either show proof of a negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination to enter the country without mandatory quarantine.

In recent weeks, France has seen increased COVID-19 infections, especially those of the Delta variant. The surge in case numbers prompted President Emmanuel Macron to announce a new mandate requiring a COVID-19 pass for anyone boarding a train or plane, going to a mall, eating at a restaurant, or visiting a hospital. The receipt will show if an individual is fully vaccinated, recently recovered, or in possession of a recent negative test, the Associated Press.

“The country is facing a strong resumption of the epidemic touching all our territory,” he said, with the Eiffel Tower behind him. “The equation is simple. The more we vaccinate, the less space we leave this virus to circulate.”

The new mandate will also impact those headed to the Eiffel Tower. Starting July 21, everyone over 19 will need to show an EU COVID Certificate to enter.

Broward Sheriff Greg Tony Failed to Show At A Trap Set By 13 Mayors.

13 Broward Town Criers Gunning For Sheriff Tony

Hallandale Beach Mayor Joy  Cooper

With their swords drawn and fangs dripping with anger, thirteen of Broward County’s Municipal leaders lay in wait for Broward County’s first Black Sheriff – Gregory Tony. But Tony failed to show up at the meeting that supposedly would allow the mayors to discuss fees charged, to their cities, for police and ambulance services. The Town Criers called the meeting to air their grievances and openly chastise the Sheriff – a public flogging, on the block, if you will.

Several of the city leaders present at the meeting (some via Skype or telephone) did raise legitimate concerns about the cost of the services provided by the Broward Sheriff Office (BSO). Sheriff Tony did not send anyone to represent his Office at the meeting, and he is yet to explain why, at the last minute, he backed out of the meeting called by Cooper City Mayor Greg Ross.

Cooper City once had its Police Department, but for the past 17 years has contracted with BSO for protective and Ambulance services. It is the belief of most of the attendees at Wednesday’s (July 14) meeting that the five percent annual salary/operation increase that BSO is demanding isn’t sustainable over the years, and it would put a considerable dent in city coffers. Without a doubt, there’s some greed, on the part of BSO, and a shakedown in taking place, because as Broward County Mayor Steve Geller pointed out: BSO has no competition, therefore the Operation feels embolden to do as it pleases.

Geoffrey Jacobs Pembroke Park

The Town of Pembroke Park

None of the blowhards who attended Wednesday’s meeting have prepared a feasibility study, let alone a cost-benefit analysis to counter Sheriff Tony’s hefty proposals. It is no wonder the Sheriff didn’t take them seriously – thus failed to show. The most prepared representative at the meeting was from the Town of Pembroke Park.

The Town of Pembroke Park has less than six thousand five hundred decent, hard-working residents, of which about fifty percent of them dwell in Trailer Parks or mobile homes. Some residents feel that BSO has become distant from their security needs and have alienated the community at large.

By August 1, Pembroke Park set to sever its ties with BSO and implement its private police force of 16 sworn personnel. Pembroke Park’s feasibility study predicts that having its own secret police force will cost about $2.75 million annually. This predictive study means the residents of Pembroke Park (supposedly) will enjoy an annual saving of $550,000. Currently, the Town pays BSO $3.3 million for protective services.

Pembroke Park Mayor Geoffrey Jacobs said his reason for not renewing the 41-year contract with BSO is that “We need proactive law enforcement, and we haven’t had that,” “we’ve had a reactive one,” the former police officer turned mayor said.

The severance of ties between BSO and Pembroke Park will create an overage of roughly 15 sworn deputy sheriffs at the Broward Sheriff Office. Perhaps those deputies will find a home at Broward County Transit, where they will provide a well-needed service to BCT’s customers.

In 2009 the City of Pompano Beach (BSO’s largest contracted city) attempted to sever its relationship with the Sheriff’s Office but later decided against the move, even though their cost-benefit analysis predicted a windfall for the Town. The reality is Broward County usually ends up paying millions of dollars to BSO to offset the financial loss that BSO incurs when it signs a contract with most of these cities. Contracted cities enjoy the generosity of BSO’s pool of $730 million annual budget.

Hallandale Beach’s Mayor Joy Cooper, primarily viewed as an empty barrel, is one of the instigators trying to dissuade other city leaders from contracting with BSO for 9-1-1 services. Cooper is embroiled in a quarrel with Sheriff Tony because she’s trying to break a contract that she signed in January 2021 with BSO for ambulance service.

In 2014 Southwest Ranches severed its contract with BSO and joined forces with the Towne of Davie lily-white police department for protective services. Southwest Ranches tax base (millage rate) is more than ten times that of the Town of Pembroke Park.

Here’s How You Can Win a Trip to Space With Virgin Galactic.

The race to become the first billionaire in space ended this week when Richard Branson, founder, and owner of the Virgin Group, flew aboard his spacecraft, Virgin Galactic’s Unity 22, into space, reaching an altitude of 53.5 miles above the Earth. It was a significant step towards Branson’s goal of commercializing space travel — a luxury now saved for the ultra-rich.

But if you don’t have $250,000 to spare, Virgin Galactic has teamed up with fundraising platform Omaze to raffle away two seats aboard one of the first passenger Virgin Galactic missions to space. To participate in the sweepstakes, interested participants can head to the Omaze website.

Virgin Galatic: Richard Branson, From Spinning Records to Setting Records On The Edge Of Space

Though payment is not required to enter the contest, a $10 donation comes with 100 entries into the raffle, while $50 will get you 1,000 entries. All proceeds from the competition will go to Space for Humanity, an organization that hopes to make space more accessible to people of all races, economic statuses, or career backgrounds. Entries are open through Sept. 1, 2021, with a winner expected to be announced by Sept. 29. The space flight will take place in early 2022. The lucky person will get to bring a friend along as they start their experience at Spaceport America in New Mexico.

There, Branson himself will give them a VIP tour of the facilities before sending them off for a flight aboard the identical spacecraft he used for his trip to space. Once the VSS Unity Space Plane reaches the appropriate altitude, passengers will experience a few minutes of weightlessness and enjoy the ultimate aerial view of Earth.

“Richard (Branson) and Space for Humanity are pioneering in democratizing access to space, making it something not just available to the ultra-high net worth individuals or astronauts but available to all humans.” Omaze CEO and co-founder Matt Pohlson told USA Today. “It’s really about making it available to everybody.” For more information, visit the official raffle website, as well as the Virgin Galactic website.

The 2021 Spelling Bee Champ is an Avant-Garde Wonder Girl From Louisiana.

Whiz Kid! Murraya.

Poised, graceful, humble, and confident are just a few of the words that describe 14-year-old Zaila Avant-garde, the first Black American to take home the coveted top prize of the Scripps National Spelling Bee 96-year-old contest.

For this young Phenom, her name (Avante-garde) says it all, which according to the English Dictionary, translates to new and unusual or experimental ideas, especially in the arts. Now Ms. Zaila has proved herself as impressive in academia as well. The Avante-garde plans to go to Harvard.

2021 Spelling Bee Champion (Whiz Kid) Zaila Avant-garde.

During an interview on Good Morning America on Friday, Zaila said that winning the 96-year-old competition has made her more interested in education, and she sees it as a “gate-opener” to developing her interest in the field of education. Zaila said she scoured dictionaries with her father, going over tens of thousands of words in preparation of the competition.

In addition to her new spelling bee title, the Avante-garde (Zaila) also holds other records in the Guinness Book of World Records for dribbling, bouncing, and juggling basketballs. The Louisiana native has been competing in the annual United States National Spelling Bee for two years since 2018. Because of the pandemic, last year the competition was put on hold.

After nine of the eleven finalists of roughly 600 contestants were eliminated, the competition came down to Zaila and twelve-year-old Chaitra Thummala from San Francisco. Zaila Avant-garde won the completion by spelling the word M.U.R.R.A.Y.A,  (murraya) a “genus of flowering plants in the citrus family, Rutaceae. It is distributed in Asia, Australia, and the Pacific Islands. The center of diversity is in southern China and Southeast Asia.” Zaila will take home a trophy, she exclaims, “is the best part of any win.” She also gets a $50,000 cash prize.
