Byron Donalds, Florida’s Republican Gubernatorial nominee, has come under attack from Democrats and Republicans.
Is it because he’s Black?
If there’s one thing Black Americans hate more than each other, it is a Black Republican.
The code for 90 percent of Black America is “Vote Blue, No Matter Who.” Great is the number of Black folks that would vote for a Bernard Getz or George Zimmerman if the person they’re running against is a Black Republican.
To be Black and a Republican is the ultimate betrayal for roughly 90 percent of African Americans.
The vote blue code wasn’t always the code of life because, after all, Republican President Abe Lincoln did set the enslaved Blacks in America ‘free.’
From the ratification of the 15th Amendment (1870), for 70 years African Americans were enamored with the Republican Party.
A provocative look at Black political loyalty, Byron Donalds, and how history shaped the Black vote toward Democrats and away from the GOP.
A roughly 35-year period of flux in the Black vote, commonly referred to behind closed doors as the block vote, followed.
During that time, the KKK, old Nazis, and Dixiecrats took hold of the Grand ‘Ol Party (GOP).
Then came the civil rights movement, and President John F. Kennedy, and soon Black folks forgot their past with the Republican Party– notwithstanding the KKK and Dixiecrats – and they fell in love again.
Ever since then, they have been saying, ‘I never knew love like this before; then came you (the Democrats), then came you.
“I will die for you. I will kill other Black folks for you.”
Now, it’s been another 70 years of African Americans being hopelessly devoted to a political party that couldn’t care less about them, the Democratic Party.
And especially for most Black women whose political lives have become the sad refrain of “I will die for you/Democratic Party.
I will kill other Black folks for you.”
For their hard labor and blind dedication, they get rewarded with the crowning of the title, The most loyal democratic base.”
There is power in the strong unity among Black women; the issue is that they are using it to benefit others rather than themselves.

Author and former President Jimmy Carter Assistant Secretary in the U.S. Department of Commerce, Dr. Claud Anderson, refers to Black America as the “permanent underclass.”
And many in America would like Black Americans to maintain that status.
They seem to believe that for them to win, Black America must lose.
Why would such a smart person as Dr. Claud Anderson say such a thing about Black America?
Did he have in mind the crabs-in-the-barrel effect that is always at play among Black people?
An example of Black people scattering in all the wrong places and times showed up in the recent Florida District 20 race.
This was when Debbie Wasserman-Schultz became aware of the splintering of the Black community, leaving her Congressional District 23 to run in a majority-Black District 20.
And she won with ease.
Dr. Anderson has authored books such as Black Labor, White Wealth: A Search for Power and Economic Justice (1994).
Most of the division among Black people in America is just different groups dancing the jig for white folks.
They behave like moths before a “light.” ‘I was here first. I’m turning my back to common sense. I’m your best Jigga. These Johnny come lately, newcomers can’t dance the jig like me.’
Byron Donalds falls into the category of a “Johnny Come Lately.” He’s considered a new Jigga on the block competing for the master’s attention.
A Jigga what, a Jigga who, a Jiggaboo?
It is possible that Donalds could fall “victim” to the same bomb that helped kill Kamala Harris’ 2024 campaign for president.
While Kamala Harris lost to President Trump mostly because she wasn’t prepared, and because she was/is a bimbo,
Donald Trump’s juggernaut of a campaign was too much for Kamala Harris and her team of advisors to process.
Harris’ defeat also rests on the fact that (1) she is a woman. (2) She is Black. (3) Many crabs in the barrel felt it was their duty to please their masters. (4) White women and the Latino community voted against her.
(5) Harris had the albatross of the ‘Palestinian’ atrocities hanging around her neck.
Plus, she refused to meet with the architect of a 21st-century mass murder, Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Democratic Party’s most loyal base (Black women) largely stood by her; however, they did not possess the numbers to see her through.
Byron Donalds has the full support of President Trump
Currently, there are African Americans on TikTok claiming to be Republicans but are urging other Black folks to vote for Donald’s opponent, “Democrat” David Jolly Rogers.
David Jolly Rogers’ goal is to pull the same hijack move as carpetbagger Debbie Wasserman Schultz pulled on Simple Simon.
If Donalds lose to Pirate Jolly Rogers, some hope it will be his Negro wake-up call.
It will not manifest as such for him. Ring the alarm.
According to the Florida Department of State / Division of Elections,
Florida has 5,607,836 Republicans, 4,066,503 Democrats, 497,679 minor party affiliates, and 3,327,656 NPAs.
Florida has far more registered Republicans than Democrats.
In 2022, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis won his campaign by 19.4 percentage points over his challenger, Charlie Crist, aka Chain Gang Charlie.
Running as a Republican, Byron Donalds should cruise to victory in Florida.
Like Byron Donalds’ gubernatorial challenger David Jolly, Charlie Crist is also a Republican who ran as a Democrat out of expediency.
If Byron Donalds wins in November, the 47-year-old candidate would become the first Black person elected governor of Florida.
For the past three decades, Florida has largely become what politicians and pundits call a ‘red state.’
Florida does tend to fluctuate between being a red and blue state.
Florida’s political color largely depends on who is running for statewide office.
If the candidate is white or Latino, voters vote on their preference and how well the candidate performs during her campaign—confirmation bias.
If the candidate is Black or African American, most Latino and white voters will automatically strike them from consideration for governance—implicit bias.
After beating back a young Nazi, James Fishback, and outgoing Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Lt. Gov. Jay Collins in the Primary to win the nomination, Donalds picked anti-Black Florida State Sen. Bryan Avila as his running mate.
Avila’s selection was to reach out to the Latino community in Florida, of which 80% are extremely anti-Black American and antagonistic toward them.
That is one reason why a majority of Black Americans have not come out to support anti-ICE protests going on in the United States.
Black Americans have been heavily penalized by many in the Latino communities.
“Think globally, act locally.”
It is crucial to be forward-thinking but not a forward person. “Be kind to everyone you meet because each carries his heavy burden…” Plato.
